From Lleida to Kyrgyzstan
Somriures del Kyrgyzstan (Kyrgyzstan smiles) that is how the three last grade students from Universitat de Lleida , Ana, Sergi and Roger has named their adventure of bringing an ambulance to UNICEF Kyrgyzstan. During the long trip, to show and share their activities and experiences, they will be sending certified pictures with Stamphoto app.
Ana is studying Elementary Education, Sergi, Roger and Sandra Physical Activities and Sport Sciences.Sandra will be given support from Lleida throughout the whole route.
Somriures del Kyrgyzstan have departed from Lleida towards the Asian country. in an emergency ambulance given by Ambulàncies de Catalunya. (Catalonian Ambulances). Their project was born as an alternative to the usual post graduation trip in order to bit in the fight to a forgotten country; Kyrgyzstan. We, Lleida.net, as sponsors , would have loved to board with them, but instead we have provide economical support and a a satellite phone connection to communicate while travelling. Also, and to show and share their activities and experiences, they will be sending certified pictures with Stamphoto app. Thus, Ana, Sergi and Roger, will test the app in the most remote places and under extreme circumstances.
Stamphoto is a very simple app, just snap and click on certify image,. The GPS geolocalization gives the legal validity to the picture.
Kyrgyzstan officially the Kyrgyz Republic ( formerly known as Kirghizia, is a country located in Central Asia Landlocked and mountainous, Kyrgyzstan is bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the south west and China to the east. Its capital and largest city is Bishkek. They journey is nearly about 10,000 km and has been divided into 23 stages. “We have set the stages because we want to arrive as soon as possible so that we could start our field work. “Sergi says. Once there , they will be welcomed by UNICEF Kyrgyzstan and for a month they will live in the Asian country doing several activities at rural schools in education and sport areas.
The ultimate aim of the project is to bring the emergency ambulance generously given by Ambulàncies de Catalunya (Catalan Ambulances) to UNICEF Kyrgyzstan located in Central Asia, a country with 26.6% infant mortality rate, and 38% of the population living below poverty line.
Ana, remarked “at least, before starting the journey we have ensured that more than 1600 people (their followers on Facebook) know there is a country called Kyrgyzstan”.
